Costs and quotes
How much does garden maintenance cost with you?
That depends on the size of the areas, the frequency, accessibility and the amount of green waste. Flat-rate prices without a site visit would not be serious. After a free site visit you receive a written quote.
How is a quote drawn up?
We visit the site, discuss your wishes and record measurements and special features. From this we prepare a written quote with precisely described services. Work only starts once you have agreed.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes. The initial consultation and the site visit are free and non-binding.
Can I deduct garden work from my taxes?
In Germany, private individuals can partially deduct labour costs for household-related services and tradesmen’s services from their tax under section 35a of the Income Tax Act (Einkommensteuergesetz). For this purpose we show labour and material costs separately on the invoice. Please pay by bank transfer. Your tax adviser can tell you whether and to what extent this applies to you.
Seasonal planning and maintenance contracts
What does a typical garden year look like?
In spring it is time for tidying up, lawn care and planting; in summer mowing, hedge trimming and watering; in autumn leaves, cutting back and planting; in winter pruning trees and shrubs and winter service. Our garden year checklist gives an overview.
What does a maintenance contract cover?
The contract sets out which areas we maintain, which jobs are done and how often, how billing works and how long the contract runs. You book additional work separately.
How long does a maintenance contract run and how can I cancel it?
The term and notice period are stated in the quote and in the contract. One season or one year with renewal is usual. We value clear, fair terms without hidden clauses.
What happens in bad weather?
In continuous rain or frost we postpone work that would otherwise damage the garden. We let you know and make up the visit.
Winter service
When does the winter service start?
The season usually runs from 1 November to 31 March. We set the exact period in the contract.
When do you clear the snow?
We follow the times set in your town’s street cleaning bylaw and clear and grit so that the areas are safe at those times.
Do I get proof?
Yes. Every visit is documented with the date, time and work carried out. You can receive the logs on an ongoing basis or at the end of the season.
Responsibilities and procedure
Do you also work for owners’ associations and property managers?
Yes. We word our quotes so that they are suitable for a resolution and coordinate dates with the property manager. The property manager remains the point of contact; residents can be informed by notice if required.
Who is my contact person?
You get a dedicated contact person for your property. You can reach us on +49 231 58 69 26 00, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Which areas do you cover?
Dortmund and the surrounding towns in the Ruhr area, for example Bochum, Lünen, Unna, Schwerte and Castrop-Rauxel. Feel free to ask about other locations too.
Do you also do paving work?
Yes, as part of landscaping: garden paths, patios, stepping stones and edging on private properties. We do not work on public roads or carry out road construction.
Do I need a permit to fell a tree?
That depends on your town’s tree protection bylaw and on the tree. The statutory protection period from 1 March to 30 September also applies. We clarify this with you before felling.
